Biography: Yazoo are an English synthpop band formed in Basildon, Essex, England in 1981. The band members are Alison Moyet (vocals) and Vince Clarke (synthesizer). Clarke is former Depeche Mode’s songwriter. The band’s genre can be described as Dance, New Wave, Electropop and Synthpop. The band was singed to Mute Records in the UK and to Sire Records in the US under the name “Yaz”. The band has released two studio albums in 1982 and in 1983. After that, the band broke up and reunited only in 2008. The band reached the mainstream success with their hit singles “Don’t Go” and “Situation” which were number one on the Hot Dance Club Play. Other their hit singles during that era were “Only You” and “Nobody’s Library”. The last band’s album You and Me Both reached number one on the UK albums chart.
