Biography: Xscape or Escape was a female R&B and contemporary R&B American group formed in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States in 1993. The group’s original line-up composed of sisters LaTocha "Juicy" Scott and Tamika "Meatball" Scott, along with Kandi Burruss and Tameka "Tiny" Cottle. Producer Jermaine Dupri noticed the group while they were singing at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. festival in Atlanta. Dupri signed the group to his label and they released their debut album Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha in October 1993. That was a commercial success and breakthrough to the music market. The album was certified Platinum within a year and it was supported by two hit singles Just Kickin’ It and Understanding. The girls continued their career and released two more albums.
