Haitian-American hip hop, reggae, compas, R&B, folk, reggaeton and bachata musician, actor and producer Wyclef Jean was born on October 17, 1972. He rose to fame as a member of the hip hop and reggea band The Fugees. He began his solo career in 1997 with his breakthrough album, Wyclef Jean Presents the Carnival Featuring the Refugee All-Stars (simply The Carnival). This album contained many famous guest artists such as Celia Cruz, The Neville Brothers, Lauryn Hill and Pras. Wyclef Jean Presents the Carnival Featuring the Refugee All-Stars also spawned the singles "Gone Till November", "We Trying to Stay Alive", "Guantanamera" and "To All the Girls".
