Biography: American alternative rock/indie band The White Stripes from Detroit, Michigan, was formed in 1997. The band comprises Jack White and Meg White. The band has sold approximately 12 million albums worldwide, 2 million in the US alone, and their latest three albums have each won a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. The White Stripes rose to fame with their breakthrough album, White Blood Cells, which you may download in mp3 from our site. The album was certiefed Gold. The White Stripes' follow-up album, Elephant, spawned the hit singles, "Seven Nation Army" (won a Grammy for Best Rock Song) and "The Hardest Button to Button". The album garnered much critical acclaim upon its release, and went on to win a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2004. In 2007, the band released their latest album, Icky Thump. The album won a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.
