Whiskeytown were an alternative country band formed in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1994. The band was founded by Ryan Adams – vocals, rhythm guitar, Caitlin Cary – fiddle, vocals, percussion, Eric "Skillet" Gilmore – drums, percussion, Steve Grothmann – bass guitar and Phil Wandscher – lead guitar, vocals. The band split in 1999 as Adams decided to pursue a solo career. The band is considered to be one of the most influential in their genre along with Uncle Tupelo, The Old 97’s and The Jayhawks. The band has released three studio albums and all three albums were recorded with different line-ups featuring only Adams and Cary and consistent members. The band’s albums are Faithless Street (1995), Strangers Almanac (1997) and Pneumonia (2001). You can download these albums by Whiskeytown in mp3 from our site.
