Biography: Velvet Revolver is an American hard rock supergroup formed in 2002 in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, the United States. The band consists of former members of Guns N’Roses, such as Slash – lead guitar, Duff McKagan – bass guitar, backing vocals, Matt Sorum – drums, percussion, backing vocals and of Dave Kushner (ex-Wasted Youth) on rhythm guitar. The band’s lead singer was Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots but he left the band in 2008 and since that time that has been on hiatus. During their career the band received 2005 Grammy Award for their single “Slither” in the nomination “Best Hard Rock Performance”. They have released two studio albums – Contraband (2004) and Libertad (2007). The first album went 2 x Platinum and remains the best-selling their work.
