Biography: Uncle Kracker, birth name Matthew Shafer was born on June 6, 1974 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the United States. He is an American rock, hip hop, country and rap rock singer-songwriter, musician and DJ. He rose to fame with his debut hit album Double Wide, which was released in 2000. The album peaked at number 7 on the Billboard 200 and was finally certified 2 x Platinum. The album yielded the hit single “Follow Me” which reached the top spot of many charts and not only in the United States but abroad as well (in New Zealand, Australia, Austria, Denmark and Switzerland). He also appeared on the hit single “When the Sun Goes Down” by Kenny Chesney. The song reached number one on the Hot Country Songs.
