English world fusion music and ethnic electronica music band Transglobal Underground (also known as Trans-Global Underground or simply as TGU) from London was formed in 1990. The band's current line-up comprises the Belgian Arabic and North African music singer Natacha Atlas (born March 20, 1964) and British Indian Dhol drummer Johnny Kalsi. Initially the group was founded by three members: Kasiek, Mantu and Dubulah. In the early 1990s, they released their debut album, "Temple Head", which brought the band a contract with Nation Records label. They achieved mainstream success several years later with their breakthrough album, International Times, which reached Top 40 in the UK. It also spawned the band's most popular hit singles such as "Taal Zaman", "Dustbowl", "Jatayu", "Holy Roman Empire", "Monter Au Ciel", "Tromba Marina" and "International Times".
