American rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tom Petty (birth name Thomas Earl Petty) was born on October 20, 1950, in Gainesville, Florida, USA. He is also the frontman of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and a member of Mudcrutch. Tom Petty achieved mainstream success as a solo singer with his milti-platinum album, Full Moon Fever (1989), which you may download in mp3 from our site. It spawned four hit singles,"Free Fallin'", "I Won't Back Down", "Love Is a Long Road", "Runnin' Down a Dream" and "I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better". The album became Petty's commercial peak as an artist helped by favorable critical reviews and three hit singles. The RIAA certified Full Moon Fever 5x platinum on October 5, 2000 and the CRIA certified it 6x platinum on September 18, 1991. His second album, Wildflowers, was released in 1994. The album's most successful single, "You Don't Know How It Feels", reached #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Album Rock Tracks chart for one week.
