Symphony X is an American progressive metal band founded in Middletown, New Jersey, the United States in 1993. The current band’s line-up composes of Russell Allen - vocals, Michael Romeo – guitar, Michael Pinnella – keyboards, Michael Lepond – bass guitar and Jason Rullo – drums. The band’s sound is often compared to the one of Dream Theater and Fates Warning. In addition, their music incorporates elements of symphonic metal and neo-classical metal. The band has released quite a number of albums, beginning from 1994. The debut album Symphony X was released that year. The last and very successful album Paradise Lost came out in 2007.
