Suzanne Nadine Vega is an American rock and folk singer, songwriter and record producer born on July 11, 1959 in Santa Monica, California, the United States. During her career, she has released seven studio albums beginning from 1985. She rose to fame with help of her second album Solitude Standing that came out in 1987. The album charted very well in many countries and reached number 11 on the Billboard 200, number 2 on the UK Albums chart, number 7 in Australia and climbed on the top of New Zealand chart. The album spawned two her most popular singles – Luka and Tom’s Diner. The mainstream audience associates Vega with these songs. Luka was really popular having reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and being in the top 10 in Canada, Sweden, New Zealand and Austria.
