The Stone Roses were an English alternative rock band formed in Manchester, the UK in 1984. The most notable line-up consisted of vocalist Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Gary "Mani" Mounfield, and drummer Alan "Reni" Wren. The band rose to fame with a release of their debut self-titled album The Stone Roses. It has become classics in Great Britain. They issued singles Made of Stone, She Bangs the Drums, Fools Gold/What the World is Waiting For and One Love. After releasing the last single the group was silent for four years due to the legal dispute with Silverstone. The next album Second Coming was released only in 1994. The album got mixed reviews.
