Stevie Ray Vaughan, birth name Stephen Ray Vaughan was born on October 3, 1954 in Dallas Texas, the United States and died on August 27, 1990 in East Troy, Wisconsin. He was an American guitarist and singer-songwriter. He is one of the most famous and influential guitarists in the world. The Rolling Stone magazine put him on the 7th place in their list of 100 Greatest Guitarists and classic Rock magazine ranked him number 3 in the list of 100 Wildest Guitar Heroes. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame. His playing style was influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Albert King and by some others. He received six Grammys in such categories like Best Contemporary Blues Album (In Step), Best Rock Instrumental Performance (for D/FW), Best Traditional Blues Album (for Blues Explosion (various artists)).
