Steven Siro Vai, known as Steve Vai is an Italian-American instrumental rock guitarist, songwriter, vocalist, producer, beekeeper and actor. He was born on June 6, 1960 in Carle Place, New York, the United States. He started his professional music career as music transcriptionist for Frank Zappa and later became a part of Zappa’s backing band. During his career, he also collaborated with David Lee Roth, Alcatrazz, Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Motorhead, Eros Ramazzotti and many others. He also made a very successful solo career having released 15 albums. His best-selling solo album was released in 1990. Passion and Warfare peaked at #18 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold by RIAA. His last album Where the Wild Things Are was released in 2009.
