Stephen Ray Pereira, known better as Steve Perry was born on January 22, 1949 in Hanford, California, the United States. He is an American singer and songwriter famous best of all as lead vocalist of the rock band Journey where he was a member from from 1978–1987 and 1995–1998. The Rolling Stone magazine put him in their list of 100 Greatest Singers of All time on 76th position. He was inducted twice in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as member of Journey and as a solo artist. His solo career was short but very successful. He released two studio albums. The first one titled Street Talk (1984) was certified 2 x Platinum in the U.S. and spawned quite a number of singles, like Oh, Sherrie, I Believe, She’s Mine and others.
