Biography: Stephen Fain Earle, known better as Steve Earle was born on January 17, 1955 in Fort Monroe, Virginia, the United States. He is an American singer-songwriter and musician famous for his rock and country music. Besides this, he is known for his political views, namely his anti-Vietnam War and anti-Iraq war position. His recent music especially the album Jerusalem (2002) is very politically charged, some people even criticized him for sympathizing terrorists. He is also a published writer and he has written and recorded a play. He is a Grammy-winning artist. He received two Grammys in 2005 and in 2008 for Best Contemporary Folk Album (The Revolution Starts Now and Washington Square Serenade respectively).
