American rapper and record producer Soulja Boy (birth name DeAndre Ramone Way) was born on July 28, 1990, in Chicago, Illinois, U.S. He is also known as Soulja Boy Tell 'Em. He was born in Chicago and moved to Atlanta at age six, where he became interested in rap music. At age 14, he moved to Batesville, Mississippi, with his father, who provided a recording studio for Way to explore his musical ambitions. In 2007, he released his first independent album, Unsigned & Still Major: Da Album Before da Album. He rose to fame with his debut album, souljaboytellem.com (2007). The album's single, "Crank That (Soulja Boy)", spent seven weeks at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
