Soulfly is a Brazilian metal band formed in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil in 1997. The band was founded by Max Cavalera, ex-frontman of Sepultura. He left Sepultura in 1996 and founded his new band. The current line-up composes of Max Cavalera – vocals, guitar, Marc Rizzo – guitar, Bobby Burns – bass guitar and Joe Nunez – drums. The band has released six studio albums, one extended play, and three singles. The band is signed to Roadrunner Records. The debut self-titled album was released in 1998. The album was certified Gold in the United States and Silver in the UK. All band’s album appeared in the main world charts. Their style is a mixture of thrash metal, nu-metal and Brazilian traditional music.
