Eunice Kathleen Waymon, better known as her stage name Nina Simone was born on February 21, 1933 in Tryon, North Carolina, the United States and died on April 21, 2003 in Carry-le-Rouet, France. She was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger and civil rights activist. During her career she covered many different genres including jazz, soul, R&B, folk, gospel and pop music. In total she released more than 40 live and studio albums having gained the enormous popularity. She is mostly known for her hit collection including such songs as “I Loves You Porgy”, “Don’t Let Me be Misunderstood”, “Four Women”, “Feeling Good”, “I Put a Spell on You” and many others.
