English tenor Russell Watson was born on November 24, 1966 in Salford, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. He has been singing since his childhood however he didn’t have intention to pursue music career. The turning point in his life happened when he performed at working men’s club. The national attention reached him when he sang the England's national anthem at the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium and "Barcelona" at the last match of the Premiership season between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. In 2000 he released his debut solo album The Voice. The album was very popular and reached 2 x Platinum certification. The following album Encore was the same popular as the debut one.
