Roots (The Roots) is an American band. It was formed in 1987 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The well-known band's names are The Legendary Roots Crew, The Fifth Dynasty, The Square Roots and The Foundation. Roots' musical genre is a mixture of hip-hop, jazz and funk. Current band's members are Black Thought, Questlove, Kamal Gray, F. Knuckles, Captain Kirk, Douglas, Damon "Tuba Gooding Jr." Bryson and Owen Biddle. Their debut album (Organix!) was released in 1993. It was very popular in Europe at that time. Soon, Roots signed with record label "DGC Records", which belongs to Universal Music Group. The next band's album (From the Ground Up) was released in 1994. It was the first record released through major label, Geffen Records. In June 2010, The Fifth Dynasty released the ninth studio album, How I Got Over. You can download Roots' album "Things Fall Apart" in mp3 from our site.
