American Grammy Award winning soul, R&B and disco singer-songwriter, musician, composer, and occasional actor Robin Thicke was born on March 10, 1977. He is a son of actor Alan Thicke and his first wife, Days of our Lives actress and singer, Gloria Loring. They divorced when he was seven. Throughout his childhood, he would be exposed to music by Bruce Springsteen courtesy of his father, as well as Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston courtesy of his mother. He began his songwriting career by penning hits for popular artists such as Christina Aguilera, Mya, Brandy, Marc Anthony, and Jordan Knight. In 2006, he released his most successful album, The Evolution of Robin Thicke, which debuted at number 45 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The album also yielded several hits such as "Got 2 Be Down" (featuring Faith Evans), "Lost Without U", "Wanna Love U Girl" (featuring Pharrell), "Can U Believe" and "Shooter" (featuring Lil Wayne).
