Rise Against is an American punk rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, the US in 1999. The current band’s line-up consists of Tim McIlrath (vocals, guitar), Joe Principe (bass guitar), Brandon Barnes (drums) and Zach Blair (guitar). The band rose to fame in 2004 releasing the album Siren Song of the Counter Culture. The next their album The Sufferer & The Witness continued their mainstream success. The albums yielded such high-charting singles as Give It All, Swing Life Away, Ready To Fall, Prayer on the Refugee, The Good Left Undone. The fifth and the lat album Appeal To Reason was released in 2008 and spawned already three singles Re-Education, Audience of One and Savior. All group members are vegetarians and support the animal rights organization PETA. Also they showed their social position having appeared on the Rock Against Bush Vol.1.
