American hip hop singer and female rapper Rasheeda (birth name Rasheeda Buckner) was born on July 29, 1982, in Brooklyn, New York. She began her career as a lead vocalist of the American hip hop band called Da Kaperz that was active from 1998 to 2000. She achieved mainstream success as a solo singer with her breakthrough debut album, Dirty South (2001), which was released through Motown Records. It also yielded three hit singles such as "Do It" (featuring Pastor Troy, Quebo Gold and Re Re), "Get It On" and "Off da Chain".
