American rapper Ras Kass (birth name John Austin IV) was born on September 26, 1973, in Carson, California. He is also well known as a member of the hip hop The HRSMN. He emerged on the American hip hop scene with his breakthrough debut single, "Remain Anonymous", which brought him a contract with both Priority and EMI Records labels. He achieved mainstream success in 1996 with his first album, Soul on Ice, which spawned several hit singles such as "Soul on Ice", "Drama" (Feat. Coolio), "Nature of the Threat" and "Anything Goes".
