American post-hardcore band Quicksand was formed in 1990 in New York City, New York, the United States. The band composed of Walter Schreifels, Tom Capone, Alan Cage and of Sergio Vega. The band was founded by Walter Schreifels, former guitarist and songwriter of Gorilla Biscuits. He recruited other musicians in order to fill in the line-up of his band. All of them came from the New York hardcore underground scene. The band didn’t achieve mainstream success, though it influenced on the development of the rock. They released two critically acclaimed albums – Slip (1993) and Manic Compression (1995). The second album reached number 135 on the Billboard 200. The band disbanded in 1995. They reformed in 1997 and embarked on the successful tour with Deftones. However, they didn’t continue working together after the tour. You can download both albums by Quicksand in mp3 from our site.
