Planet Funk are an Italian electronic dance musical group formed in 1999. The band members are Sergio Della Monica, Alex Neri, Domenico "GG" Canu, Marco Baroni and Alessandro Sommella. The band appeared when three producers decided to team up. The initiative of the group formation belongs to Sergio Della Monica, Domenico Canu and Alessandro Sommella. Before the group formation, they were known as the group “Souled Out!” that was active during the 1980s and that reached the international popularity with the same-titled album. Planet Funk was influenced by such acts like Depeche Mode, Police, Pink Floyd, Brian Eno, New Order, Cocteau Twins and others. They have released four studio albums and several singles.
