French alternative rock band Phoenix from Versailles, France, was formed in 1999. The band comprises Thomas Mars (vocals), Deck D'Arcy (bass), Laurent Brancowitz (guitar) and Christian Mazzalai (guitar). They started as the backing band for a remix of Air's "Kelly Watch the Stars" single. In 2000, they released their debut album. The band's second album, Alphabetical, released in 2004. It produced two singles, "Everything Is Everything" and "Run Run Run". The album's second single, "Run Run Run", reached some alternative pop charts. It also debuted on the Billboard 200 at number 37. The album's song, "1901", was used for the Theatrical Trailer of New York, I Love You.
