Pharoahe Monch is an American artist from Queens, New York. His real name is Troy Donald Jamerson. Troy was born on 31 October in 1972. His musical genre is a mixture of hip-hop and alternative rap. Pharoahe Monch and Prince Poetry formed an alternative hip hop duo Organized Konfusion. Their duo was popular, but not commercially successful. Together they have released 3 albums such as Organized Konfusion, Stress: The Extinction Agenda and The Equinox. Soon, Pharoahe Monch signed a contract with Rawkus Records and released his solo album. This debut album (Internal Affairs) was issued in 1999. Several Monch's singles featured such films like Simon Says and Right Here. In 2010, Troy plans to release his third solo album.
