American alternative hip hop group The Pharcyde was formed in 1989 in Los Angeles, California. The original line-up composed of Imani (Emandu Wilcox), Slimkid3 (Tre Hardson), Bootie Brown (Romye Robinson) and Fatlip (Derrick Stewart). The group recorded their debut demo in 1991. That allowed them to hire a prominent producer Paul Stewart who had worked with such famous group like Cypress Hill and House of Pain. The first album titled Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde was released in 1992 to critical acclaim. The album spawned such hit singles like “Passin’ Me By” (reached number one on the Hot Rap Tracks) and “Otha Fish”, a minor hit. The album was certified Gold and pulled the band to the mainstream success. The album charted on the Billboard 200 as well. You can download The Pharcyde’s debut album in mp3 from our site.
