Paul Hamilton Williams Jr. was born on September 19, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska, the United States. He is an American composer, musician, songwriter and actor. He was inducted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame and his songs were performed by many pop and country artists. During his career, he received an Academy Award for the song “Evergreen” (Best Song) from A Star Is Born soundtrack which was co-written with Barbara Streisand who performed it. He also wrote hits for Helen Reddy ("You and Me Against the World"), The Carpenters ("Rainy Days and Mondays," "I Won't Last a Day Without You," and "We've Only Just Begun"). Williams also wrote music for many films including Phantom of the Paradise, Bugsy Malone, Lifeguard, One on One and others.
