Biography: Patricia Jean Griffin, known better as her stage name Patty Griffin is an American folk, folk-rock and Americana singer-songwriter born on March 16, 1964 in Old Town, Maine, the United States. She is primary known as pianist, guitarist and vocalist. She bought her first guitar at the age of 16 but didn’t have enough time to pursue a music career. After her divorce she began signing in Boston coffee houses and was noticed by A&M Records. Griffin signed with the label and released her debut album Living With Ghosts without any success. Her next album Flaming Red reached number 12 on the US Heatseekers chart. All in all, she has released six studio albums and the last one titled Children Running Through came out in 2007.
