| Biography: |
Oval is an electronic music group formed in Germany in 1991. Originally the band composed of three members Markus Popp, Sebastian Oschatz, and Frank Metzger. In 1995 Oschatz and Metzger left the band but Markus Popp still performs under the name Oval. The band is considered to be the pioneer of glitch. It’s a music genre which uses noises of broken down equipment or when a failure happens. Popp refused to use synthesizers and wrote on CD’s by felt pens processing the fragmental sounds thus creating unique electronic style. Oval has released 8 albums the last ones are Ovalprocess and Ovalcommers which you can download in mp3 from our site. Markus Popp collaborated with Gastr Del Sol, Björk and Japanese singer Eriko Toyada. Together with Toyada, they formed a duo called So and released a self-titled album in the USA.
