Olly Murs, birth name Oliver Stanley Murs was born on May 14, 1984 in Witham, Essex, England. He is an English singer-songwriter. He rose to fame when he participated in the X Factor. He finished the sixth season second. After that he embarked on the tour together with other finalists. Afterwards he signed with Syco Music and Epic Records and started to record his debut album. The debut eponymous album was released in November 2010. It quickly gained mainstream success and was certified Platinum. The album reached number 2 on the UK Albums chart, number 11 on the Irish chart and number 18 in European Union. The album spawned hit single number one "Please Don't Let Me Go" and another single "Thinking of Me". That single reached number 4 on the UK Singles chart.
