Geethali Norah Jones Shankar known as her stage name Norah Jones is an American singer- songwriter covering such genres as jazz, blues, pop, soul, folk and country. She was born on March 30, 1979 in Brooklyn, New York, the United States. She’s also multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, piano, keyboards. Before beginning a solo career she was a lounge singer, performing with Wax Poetic and Peter Malick Group. Her debut album Come Away With me was released in 2003 and immediately gained the great popularity. The album smashed the charts in the U.S., the UK, in Canada, Germany, France, Poland and in Italy. In all these countries the album reached number one. It was certified Diamond in the States and in Canada with 23 million copies sold worldwide.
