Noir Desir is French rock band from Bordeaux formed in 1983. The band’s current members are Bertrand Cantat (vocals, guitar), Serge Teyssot-Gay (guitar), Jean-Paul Roy (bass guitar) and Denis Barthe (drums). The band was the most popular and successful French rock act during the 1990s and at the beginning of 2000s. The band has been cited as the main influence by such groups like Louise Attaque, Cali and Miossec. On the other hand, the band members were in love for the music of AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and the Who. Noir Desir have released 6 studio albums, three live albums, three compilation albums and 13 singles. The peak of their success is connected with their two last albums 666.667 Club (1996) and Des Visages des Figures (2001). The albums were certifies 2 x Platinum in France.
