Canadian indie rock, alternative rock, power pop and art rock band The New Pornographers was formed in 1997. The band comprises Dan Bejar (also played in Destroyer and Swan Lake bands), Kathryn Calder (played in Immaculate Machine), Neko Case (solo artist and a member of Maow and Cub), John Collins (played in The Evaporators), Kurt Dahle (also a member of Limblifter and Age of Electric bands), Todd Fancey (solo artist, known as Fancey), Carl Newman (also known as A.C. Newman) and Blaine Thurier (independent filmmaker). They achieved mainstream success in 2007 with their fourth album, Challengers, which yielded the singles such as "All the Things That Go to Make Heaven and Earth", "Failsafe", "Unguided", "Entering White Cecilia" and "Go Places".
