| Biography: |
English alternative rock and symphonic rock band Muse from Teignmouth, Devon, was formed in 1994. The band comprises Matthew Bellamy, Christopher Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard. The members of the band played in separate bands during their stay at Teignmouth Community College and Coombeshead College in the early 1990s. The formation of the band began when Bellamy successfully auditioned for the part of guitarist in Dominic Howard's band. They asked Chris Wolstenholme, who played drums at the time, to learn to play bass guitar for the band. He agreed and took up lessons. In 2006, the band released their fourth and commercially-successful album, Black Holes & Revelations, which was nominated for a Mercury Prize. Five singles were released: "Supermassive Black Hole", "Starlight", "Knights of Cydonia", "Invincible" and "Map of the Problematique".
