Biography: American alternative metal, progressive metal and rock band Mudvayne from Peoria, Illinois, USA, was formed in 1996. The band comprises Chad Gray (lead vocals), Greg Tribbett (guitar, backing vocals), Ryan Martinie (bass, backing vocals) and Matthew McDonough (drums, percussion). Originally the band was formed by Chad Gray, Greg Tribbet, Matthew McDonough, and Shawn Barclay. They quickly gained popularity in 2000 with their breakthrough debut album, L.D. 50, which produced several hit singles such as "Dig", "Death Blooms" and "Nothing to Gein". For "Dig", the band won the first ever MTV2 Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2001. This was also the first time the award was ever presented to a metal band.
