British rock, heavy metal and speed metal band Motörhead formed in 1975, in London, England. The band comprises Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee. While the band is typically classified as heavy metal, speed metal or thrash metal (and often regarded as a foundational influence on the latter two styles), Lemmy dislikes such labels, preferring to describe the band's music simply as "rock n' roll". They achieved mainstream success in 1980 with their best selling album, Ace of Spades, which peaked at number 4 on the UK album charts. The album also produced several singles such as "Ace of Spades", "Love Me Like a Reptile", "Shoot You in the Back" and "Live to Win". The album has been described as "one of the best metal albums by any band, ever" and has become a significantly influential "hard rock classic".
