Michael McDonald is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter born on February 12, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is known as member of Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Goldstar and for his solo career. As solo artist he has a backing band consisting of Bernie Chiaravalle - guitar; Vince Denham - saxophone; Lance Morrison – bass and of Yvette "Baby Girl" Preyer - drums. During his solo career he released eight studio albums and the best selling one is his 2003 album Motown. The album peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 200, number 17 on the Top R&B/Hip-hop Albums and number 29 on the UK albums chart. Motown was certified Platinum.
