Mathieu Chedid, also known under his stage name –M- was born on December 21, 1971 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. He’s a French singer-songwriter and musician of Lebanese descent through his paternal grandmother. He covers such genres like chanson, rock, funk and plays bass guitar, guitar, keyboards, drums and kazoo. He began his music career with Julien Voulzy and Pierre Souchon. Together they formed band after band, like Mat Mat (Checkmate checkmate), Les bébés fous (The Crazy babies) and Les poissons rouges (“red fish”, the same as English “goldfish”). In order to gain popularity he collaborated with many different musicians including Sean Lennon (son of John Lennon). They covered his song “Parachute” in French.
