The Living End are an Australian rock band coming from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The band was founded in 1994 by Chris Cheney and Scott Owen. The current line-up composes of Chris Cheney – guitar, vocals, Scott Owen – double bass and vocals, Andy Strachan – drums and vocals. The band broke through to the music business sending demo tape to Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day. The band was invited to support Green Day during their Australian tour. After that, the Living End entered the studio for recording their debut album. In total, the band has released 5 studio albums, 2 compilation albums, 4 extended plays, and 26 singles. The debut self-titled album The Living End is their most successful release. It was certified 5 x Platinum and reached number 1 in Australia and it was 27th in New Zealand.
