British rock, folk rock and electric folk duo Linda Thompson & Richard Thompson became to prominence in the early 1970s with their debut album, I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight, which produced several singles such as "When I Get To The Border", "The Calvary Cross", "Withered and Died" and "I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight". They began their professional collaboration in the early 1970s. During this time, Linda Peters (later Linda Thompson) was a session singer. She is also often considered as a pioneer of the British folk rock movement. This duo achieved mainstream success in the late 1970s with their best selling album, Sunnyvista, which spawned the singles such as "Civilisation", "Borrowed Time", "Saturday Rolling Around" and "You're Going To Need Somebody".
