Ledisi Anibade Young known as Ledisi is an American R&B singer-songwriter, music producer and actress, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the United States. She also sings in such genres as gospel, soul, jazz and neo soul. She began singing since the early age with New Orleans Symphony Orchestra. Much later in 1990s she formed a group Anibade, tried to sign a major label but failed. The group released a demo and got some acclaim in Bay Area. She began her solo career in 2000 when she released her debut album Soulsinger: The Revival. But the album didn’t have any success as the second one. The breakthrough happened in 2007 with a release of her third album Lost & Found. She got a Grammy nominations in the category Best New Artist and Best R&B album.
