American easy listening and pop rock musician, accordionist and television impresario Lawrence Welk (March 11, 1903 – May 17, 1992) achieved mainstream success as an organizer of a musical variety show, The Lawrence Welk Show that was active from 1955 to 1982. He began his music career as an accordionist playing with various bands such as Luke Witkowski, Lincoln Boulds, and George T. Kelly. In the early 1920s, he formed his own orchestra. Later, he performed with Hotsy Totsy Boys and the Honolulu Fruit Gum Orchestra. In the late 1920s, he signed a contract with Gennett Records label. After this deal, he produced Percusion, which yielded the tracks such as "Scarf dance", "Вance of the puppets", "The business mans bounce", "Loch lomond" and "Listen to the mocking bird".
