Laura Phillips Anderson, better known as Laurie Anderson is an American musician and performance artist born on June 6, 1947 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, the United States. She plays violin, percussion, synclavier and plays music in different experimental and art rock style. She rose to fame at the beginning of the 1980s releasing her single “O Superman”. This single made her popularity spread out of the art world. The song peaked at number 2 in the UK and Anderson was singed by Warner Bros. Records. She couldn’t repeat the same success in the charts. Other her charted single is Babydoll, which reached number 7 on the US Modern Rock Chart. She has quite rich discography of 11 albums.
