American pop and dance-pop singer-songwriter, Lady Gaga (birth name Stefani Joanne Angelina ) was born on March 28, 1986, in Yonkers, New York, USA. Having learned piano at the age of four, Gaga went on to write her first piano ballad at thirteen. Various acts have hired her as a songwriter, including Akon's Konvict label, as well as Fergie, Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears and New Kids on the Block. Musically, she is inspired by glam rockers such as David Bowie and Queen, as well as pop singers such as Michael Jackson and Madonna. Lady Gaga achieved her break in 2008 with her debut dance-pop single "Just Dance". The song received a Grammy nomination in the Best Dance Recording category. The Fame (2008) was her debut album, which yielded the hit singles "Poker Face", "Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)" and "Paparazzi".
