American rock, pop and pop rock singer and songwriter Kenny Loggins (birth name Kenneth Clark Loggins) was born on January 7, 1948, in Alhambra, California, USA. He rose to fame as a member of the American rock-pop duo Loggins and Messina. They achieved mainstream success in the early 1970s with their well-known hit singles such as "Danny's Song" and "Your Mama Don't Dance". In the late 1970s, he released his breakthrough solo debut album, Celebrate Me Home, which has been certified platinum and reached number 72 on the Billboard album charts. In 1978, he released his most commercially-successful album, Nightwatch, which peaked at number 7 on the Billboard 200. It also produced two singles, "What a Fool Believes" and "Whenever I Call You Friend" (which peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100).
