| Biography: |
Keane is an English piano rock and alternative rock band from Battle, East Sussex, formed in 1995. The band comprises composer, bassist, and pianist Tim Rice-Oxley; lead vocalist Tom Chaplin; and drummer Richard Hughes. They are known for using a piano as their lead instrument instead of guitars, differentiating them from most rock bands. In 2004, Keane released their debut album, Hopes and Fears, which you may download in mp3 from our site. It spawned the hit singles, "Somewhere Only We Know", "Everybody's Changing" and "Bedshaped". With almost six million copies sold, Hopes and Fears has been ranked the 16th biggest-selling album of the millennium so far in the UK. During the year, the band achieved minor recognition in the U.S. due to their extensive touring, which culminated with a series of gigs as the opening act for U2. The band's follow-up album, Under the Iron Sea, was released in 2006, and it is also availble for download in mp3 from our site.
